Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, MLD can be used for a wide range of purposes, it accelerates the healing process post-surgery which leads to improved results, decreased fibrotic tissue, and quicker recovery.
MLD moves fluid back to the lymphatic system helping to detoxify your body of metabolic waste (toxins), strengthen resistance to illness, reduces post-surgical swelling, inflammation, and bruising, as well as minimize pain.
Moderate pressure is applied to the surface of the skin to navigate lymphatic fluid to their respective lymph nodes. During and after Manual Lymphatic treatment clients often feel rejuvenated and relaxed. You may have an increase in urination and thirst after your session. Make sure you hydrate and give yourself time to rest.
